A bibliometric study on the professionalization of E-Sports in Brazil

Electronic games have been growing exponentially and involving many players around the world. In recent years, electronic games have emerged as a great breakthrough for the world entertainment industry. Nowadays, the various types of electronic games can make much more money than cinema and music together. In this context, the present work intends to investigate the difficulties encountered in the national and international context for the professionalization of E-sports? What factors, in the international context, make E-sports a profession? The general objective of the work was to analyze through a bibliometric analysis, the national and international context of professionalization of E-
Sports. In methodological terms the work is characterized by a research of mixed nature (qualitative-quantitative), of descriptive order, that made use of the bibliometric analysis to search the results. The main difficulties according to the literature for the professionalization of E-Sports in Brazil and in the world were observed and pointed out, besides having been mapped the main areas of discussion within the subject and current perspectives, characterizing a promising area within the scope of the research and in the professional scope.
