Tools and technologies used for access and communication in digital citizenship

Abstract

The advent of the fourth industrial revolution has given rise to an integration between the physical, digital and biological environments of today's society, never seen before. This paradigm shift culminated in the emergence of the Internet, and later, in the creation of Information and Communication Technologies. Such tools and technologies are used for access to information and for effective communication, in today's society, are present in the most diverse environments of entertainment, media, ways of accessing studies and forms of work. Currently, devices such as mobile phones, computers, Smart TV and platforms/services like YouTube, email and websites have been doing, increasingly, part of the daily life of the population and function as a way to integrate the citizen in the context of digital citizenship. Thus, through quantitative research, this project presents the main tools and devices used by people to integrate into the digital context, and obtained a result that problems are still encountered in the use of devices and tools such as the lack of investment of structures networking and understanding of the full use of the tools.
